I'm sure you've all heard about Donald Trump separating illegal immigrants and their children, keeping them in seperate detention centres, and parents not being allowed to see their children for a long time. Who did you get this information from? Was it Time magazine, the now well known red cover with Trump staring down at a sobbing illegal immigrant child with just the simple words, Welcome to America? The child that actually wasn't one of the thousands separated from their parents? Time, such a trusted news source is portraying a fake image that misleads the public into believing this problem arose with Donald Trump. In no way am I condoning the separation of innocent children from their parents, but President Trump is just making headlines with his crackdown. In fact, the number of illegal immigrants entering the US is down by about 1.4 million people from President Obama's administration that didn't monitor the amount of people entering the US through the Mexico border. The media has led the public to believe that Donald Trump not letting these illegal immigrants have access to a judge is unconstitutional and wrong, but people who aren't Americans and are entering illegally do not have the privilege to a judge and hearing. It's also not fair to let these people just enter for mercy's sake. What about the many people who actually wait for the legal processing to enter? So yes. Donald Trump may have a tough stance on immigration, but what he is doing, he is doing for the people in America. He has reversed the act separating children from their parents on the border, but his 'zero-tolerance' policy of immigrants being persecuted if they try and enter the US still remains strong. So just coming back to the issue at hand. Don't believe everything you see or read. However credible the source seems. Develop your own opinion, which I have just learned about. If I only read the Time article, I'd believe the same thing. Trump is being selfish and bigoted. After doing more reading, I've found a wider perspective, and having that has widened my thinking to be more openminded. Anyway, that's my little rant on an issue that has been bugging me lately. Let me know what you think.

I just got back from a whirlwind holiday in Bali, which was dream-like. We stayed in the Blue Mango Villa Seminyak, which we booked on Airbnb. We booked the whole 3 bedroom villa for the 6 of us. The villa comes with a house manager, Nyoman who took care of all our needs, whether it be booking a car to take us to Ubud, a nearby town or organising scooters for us to ride. He also made us breakfast each day for 6 New Zealand dollars per person. Most days I had pancakes and one day I had Nasi Goreng for breakfast (!!) which were both delicious. We did some touristy things, but we also kept our holiday laidback and relaxed. For one, we went to Finns Beach Club, a highly recommended club in Canngu. It had an infinity pool and a swim up bar, which was so chilled out and nice. We also went to Nusa Dua, the southern side of the island of Bali. The beaches are very nice and after that we headed to the Rock Bar, a very well known bar, on the rocks overlooking the Indian Ocean. It was absolutely stunning. Some of the restaurants we went to were spectacular. My personal favourite was Batik, our own discovery. It serves traditional Indonesian food with some twists too. I think my favourite thing that I ate was a steamed Barramundi with a Tom Yum broth and enoki mushrooms. We all couldn't get enough of that broth. It was finger-lickingly good. The fish was steamed to perfection and the whole dish just tasted so good. I also really enjoyed Last Wave at Ngurah Rai Airport (Bali.) I wasn't too hungry just yet, neither was my dad. So we shared a Karaage chicken which is something that I really wanted to try and a bowl of chips. The Kaarage chicken batter was well seasoned, light and crispy and the chicken itself was tender and juicy. The fries were crispy and fluffy and had a Cajun seasoning on top. They tasted like curly fries without the curly. Overall, if you get the chance to go to Bali, you should definitely take it and discover some of the less touristy things to do, which there are plenty of. Bali was such a good way to unwind and relax and I can't wait to go back.
Hey everyone, I haven't blogged in so long! I really did miss it and decided to sit down at my computer and blog :))) I've been very busy with school and other things too. I promise I will blog more because I love blogging. 5 facts about me just so that you know me a bit better and so yeah, let's get into it!
1. I wear contact lenses at night. I wore glasses until I was eight and because of school and sport so I got contacts. It's a treatment called Orthokeratology or Ortho-K for short. It's definitely better than wearing glasses. I don't have to wear the contacts at day either, so no real discomfort. 2. I am Indian but born in NZ. Both my parents are from India but I consider NZ my home. 3. I can speak basic Italian and Chinese. Chinese I am learning at school ( Ni hao, ni hao ma?) and Italian is just a thing I am learning at home. (Ciao!) I would love to go to Italy one day. 4. I play cricket for West Auckland. I am in the training academy at the moment and it's really fun :) 5. I dream of backpacking all over Europe, and experiencing it the authentic way. This would be so much fun and a great experience. Honestly I'd love to travel to every country in the world. See you sooner rather than later x Azana So, I've been thinking about doing one of these for some time, and I finally got around to it! I like the idea and here are some of my favourites..
1. Almond Grains and Honey Oaty Slices bar These museli bars are soooo good! They are made by Mother Earth and I would usually have the chocolate chip one but I recently discovered these ones. The almond provides a lovely crunchiness and the honey is a really nice sweetness which isn't too sugary sweet either. You could say I'm obsessed. I would definitely recommend trying them if you can. Yummy. 2. Typo Easy Writer pen This pen isn't a new release pen or anything, but can I just say, I love these pens. They are easy to write with and the ink just flows out. I have been using mine nonstop because it's really smooth and it's just the first pen I go to. I have one in black, but definitely looking to expand my collection :) 3. The Endless Steppe by Esther Hautzig A true story that I'm reading in school and I absolutely love it so far! It's a book quite similar to Anne Frank's story with a Jewish Girl getting displaced due to conflict. I haven't read too far just yet, so there can't be any spoilers. Esther ends up having to go on a 6 week train journey into Asia all the way from Poland, Siberia to be precise. The Endless Steppe is such a great book, although less known than The Diary of a Young Girl, it is definitely worth a read. 4. Abercrombie and Fitch Navy Blue Lacy Dress This dress is really really pretty and I love it a lot. I think it could be worn formal with a nice pair o' shoes. It's a dark navy with a gold zip at the back. It has a rounded neck and can I just say, I love the style of this. I would also love a white one in this. Well, that's some of my May favourites, I really can't believe we are already halfway through the year! See you around :) So today, I was just looking through Weebly and I saw my old blog, with a similar name too :) It was great reading it and seeing the difference between my blogging now, and my blogging then. It's a really cute memory and I'm so happy I have it ❤ I've put some photos in for you to check out and the link is here
Enjoy! x This Easter Weekend, there was some lovely weather, so I decided to do a bit of a photoshoot!! The subject of course had to be my darling Charcoal Tabby cat, Peppa. There is some other photos in there, but here are my favourite. Hope you guys all had a really great Easter and that you all ate lots and lots of chocolate :) P.S my personal favourite is the 11th one, Peppa looks so vicious and like she is attacking something x
One day, if you were given 3 million dollars, in your hand, just like that, what would you do with it? Find out how I would spend my 3 & 6 zeros.
On Sunday the 27th, we went over to my Auntie and Uncles house. We were going to have a Thanksgiving Lunch! I have only celebrated Thanksgiving once before so I was looking forward to it. We were celebrating with the same relatives who we went to Waiheke Island with. ( I have written a blog about this, so go check it out!)
Recently I visited Kings Plant Barn again. I did more than just eat this time. I took some photos! Prepare to be amazed..
On Tuesday the 10th of May , 20 girls from my school went to the Auckland Writers Festival. The event ran from 10 am to 2.45 pm. There were 4 speakers who each spoke for 45 minutes.
